VA DMVVirginia DMV Practice Test Guide
Virginia's driver testing is run by the Virginia DMV, and the written test draws from the Virginia Driver's Manual. The state's traffic is a study in contrasts — the dense DC-suburb commutes of Northern Virginia and the rural highways of the west — and both appear on the exam: signs, right-of-way, and the rules that keep a state with heavy traffic flowing.
Virginia drivers should also know the state's Move Over law, which requires drivers to move over or slow down for stopped emergency and utility vehicles with flashing lights — a fact that shows up on the test. Northern Virginia is also one of the highest-income regions in the country, and its drivers are known for strong willingness to invest in good study tools — exactly the audience this hub serves.
Per the state matrix, Virginia's motorcycle and CDL lines are lower priority for now (motorcycle is optional, CDL is deferred). This hub currently focuses on the license test, the entry point for the majority of new drivers and new residents.
Run the free practice test until you're hitting 85%+ consistently, then book your exam at your local DMV. And whether you're commuting on I-66 or cruising Route 250, the Move Over habit will serve you well.
